iPhorest, iPhone going green

Thanks to a new app called iPhorest you can be an electronic gardener.

Today you can plant a tree without having a garden and for every iPhorest tree you plant a real tree is planted by the Conservation Fund.

But even with this virtual garden, you'll have to be a constant gardener to make your iPhorest tree grow.
iPhorest is a $4.99 app that was created in a collaboration between iPhactory, Ecolife and The Conservation Fund.
You can plant additional trees in the forest view screen by clicking on the shovel, and send your tree to others. The creator, San Francisco-based iPhactory, has also included a world map showing everyone who has downloaded the application, so you can see where other fellow iPhoresters are doing their planting.

Once you download the app, you can virtually grow your tree

Tree planting services are provided to iPhactory by The Conservation Fund. For each virtual tree planted, The Conservation Fund will plant a native tree in real life - starting with restoration of vulnerable wildlife habitats along the Gulf Coast in the United States. They will work with the nation's leading public natural resource agencies to ensure the long-term protection of each iPhorest.
